Davide Montagnani
Davide Montagnani, born on October 26, 1968, lives and works in Maranello (Modena).A graduate of the A. Venturi Art Institute in Modena, "Architecture" department, he began his career in 1987 as a designer at the "Maestri Maiolicari" Artistic Ceramics in Campogalliano (Modena). In 1989, working at the Gammadue offices in Sassuolo, he expanded his ceramics experience by designing and creating various decorative designs for the ceramic industry. Over the next five years, still at Gammadue, first as a designer and then as Art Director, he managed a team of graphic designers, handling a wide range of clients on the national and international markets. In 1994, he founded L'IDEA Studio, perfecting his decorative pattern design and prototyping techniques. During this period he mainly devoted himself to "studies for third-firing decoration", with collaborations (Studio TARGET, CAVAZZOLI, Studio CHIARA, CRONOS, CAAP, Studio IMMAGINE, Antica MANIFATTURA, etc...) through which he created numerous decorative projects for the ceramic industry. From 1998 to 2003 he collaborated with studios for the creation of equipment for screen printing, deepening his knowledge of different materials such as marble, stone, terracotta..., sourcing these materials in different parts of Italy and Europe; during this period he learned screen printing techniques for printing on stone and the processing techniques one on marble.In 2003, IDEA Studio became a Graphics Workshop and from this moment on, it focused its attention primarily and directly on ceramic manufacturing companies. Drawing on its previous experience and increasing its knowledge in marketing and communication, its activity is expressed in the production of "CeramicCollections", contributing not only to production, but also to product communication, collaborating with experts in architecture, art and photography. His current clients include Ceramica IMPRONTA, Ceramica GARDENIA ORCHIDEA, Ceramica COLLI, Ceramica GOLD ART, Ceramica GEMMA, etc., and his collaborators include architects Roberto SEMPRINI, Dino BUFFAGNI, Carla PIGONI, PierPaolo BERGONZINI, etc. His journey of discovery and curiosity has led him to undertake projects outside the ceramics sector, such as WAVE Stone, a company that works and offers projects in natural stone, as well as the design of decorative objects. Anything that provides graphic aesthetics and decoration arouses his interest and curiosity, and he is still seeking collaborations and new experiences to express in his projects.
